Risa Kumazawa is the Department Chair of Economics and Finance and an Associate Professor of Economics in the Palumbo Donahue School of Business Administration at Duquesne University. She is both an econometrician and labor economist who specializes in research on economic development and labor issues. Her research has been published in a number of scholarly journals including Applied Economics, Manchester School and Journal of Economics and Finance. She has also served as the principal investigator of an Office of Naval Research grant. Risa currently sits on the Editorial Review Board of the Journal of African Business and is a member of the American Economic Association and the Eastern Economic Association. She makes media appearances locally. She received her Ph.D. in economics from the University of Texas at Austin.
